Greetings. This is Pastor David Bass with New Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church with a moment of truth where we challenge you to think through an important issue of life and faith. Today, why we no longer believe you, Uncle Sam. I want to continue with this theme, why we no longer believe you, Uncle Sam. But first, I want to apprise you of a couple of scheduled things coming up at New Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

And the thing I'm excited about is our Christmas Eve service. We haven't had one of these in a long time, but New Geneva is planning a Christmas Eve service that's Sunday, December 24 at 5 p.m. in our sanctuary. And we're opening this up to the public. It's going to be a fun time. We have a lot of good readings, Christmas readings from the Bible, and chock full of hymns and songs for Christmas.

We'll have candlelight, and it'll be a real meditative and holy Christmas Eve, we hope, for everybody who participates. A memorable time. And so we want to invite you to our Christmas Eve service at New Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church. That's on Christmas Eve, December 24, Sunday evening at 5 p.m. And we are located at 101 4th Street. We're right in the corner of 4th and Boulevard.

And bring your family, come by yourself if you want, but it's going to be a sweet meditative time around Scripture and song and just some brief comments here and there as well. So we look forward to seeing you on that evening. Right now, I'd like to get back to my theme today, why we no longer believe you, Uncle Sam. Our eyes are open. We are awake, and you no longer fool us.

You no longer pull the wool over our eyes, Uncle Sam. Growing up, I had an uncle on my mother's side who my mother used to generously say, stretch the truth a little, she'd say. Yes. And hereafter, he's going to be referred to as Uncle Stretch, because that is precisely what our Uncle Sam does, our federal government does. It stretches the truth a little, as my mother might say.

For my Uncle Stretch, the fish that he caught were always bigger and tougher to catch than the rest of us thought, right? Other drivers were always ruder than human traffic. Oh, my Uncle Stretch's childhood was always more deprived than my other aunts and uncles were called theirs being. And whatever happened to you or whatever you had was never as sensational or as magnificent as his. He always managed to outdo you.

That was my Uncle Stretch. In short, no one could fully trust what Uncle Stretch told them. If he said the sky was blue, we looked outside to see if it wasn't actually red. The same goes for Uncle Sam. The personification of the federal government of the United States of America, most Americans today agree with me, too.

We have had enough experience with you, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, to know that you not only stretch the truth, you break it in pieces with every new lie that you feed us. For example, listen closely. Uncle Sam, you say that you are the protector of women and their rights. Boy, has that come to a lie recently, hasn't it? We don't believe you anymore, Uncle Sam.

Isn't this the most recent lie that we now see utterly a sham and a lie? Al Franken and John Conyers are two prominent examples of the rest of Congress. While piously holding forth upon the rights of women, for example, John Conyers recently tweeted, let's fight to ensure women have the equal ability to participate in the workplace. While tweeting this, John Conyers, you were sexually abusing and assaulting female congressional staff.

How, pray tell, can they participate in the workplace when they're distracted by unwanted sexual advances by the likes of you, John Conyers, running around in your office in your underwear, according to the testimony of some of your former staff, 88-year-old man, you should be ashamed of yourself. What we know now is that some 268 different cases of sexual harassment by any number of congressmen have been settled in secret for over $17 million of taxpayer dollars. What lies? What hypocrisy, Uncle Sam. Please spare us your lies that you advance and protect women and their rights.

We do not believe you anymore, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch. Well, here's another lie that you tell us that we no longer believe, Uncle Sam, that you are the guardian of our rights as given in the Constitution. We no longer believe you when you say this, Uncle Sam. We've had enough experience with you to know the opposite is true. For example, Uncle Sam, you say you are the protector of our First Amendment right to free speech.

Liar. We don't believe you anymore, Uncle Sam. The First Amendment to the Constitution says in part that Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech or the press. In spite of this explicit declaration, you seek to restrict our free speech through legislation euphemistically named net neutrality. That is where government cannot directly restrict content and access to the internet, but where private corporations with tacit government approval can and do censor content and access.

So, liar. We no longer believe you, Uncle Sam. Net neutrality. Shmality. Also, if it had not been for the Supreme Court, Uncle Sam, the Supreme Court decision against the Federal Election Commission in the Citizens United case in 2010, Congress would have further restricted our free speech.

in election campaigns by restricting the amounts of contributions made to advertisers for political ads under various conditions. But fortunately, this draconian law was struck down. So, Uncle Sam, liar. We no longer believe you. Additionally, we have hanging over our heads the specter of the Fairness Doctrine, which would unfairly require any speech in any venue that gave an opinion on a political matter to give its opposing view, ostensibly, to be fair.

Now, in the past, when this was in force, it was selectively enforced against conservatives and benignly neglected when applied to progressives. It is another example of the phenomenon of paradox labeling. Paradox labeling. Paradox labeling. That is, any government program or legislation is exactly the opposite of what it is named.

Net neutrality is paradox labeling because it's not internet neutrality at all in any way, shape, or form. Fairness doctrine is paradox labeling because it is a doctrine that does not bring unfairness to media. Affordable health care. Health care is not affordable under this government act. It is a paradox labeling.

So is Patriot Act. It is the opposite of what they label it to be. So, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, liar. We no longer believe you, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch. Here's another lie that you feed us, Uncle Sam.

Uncle Sam. Uncle Sam, you say that you protect our freedom of religion. Liar. We do not believe you anymore. The First Amendment to the Constitution also assures us, in part, that Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, unquote.

Yet at every turn, Uncle Sam, you obliterate and restrict every expression of Christianity from the public square in the United States of America, while implicitly exalting atheism and hatred of traditional Christianity at every turn. Additionally, you encourage militant Islam by calling it a cultural alternative rather than a religion. And in the meantime, militant political Islam grows here in America in vast Islamic ghettos as it preaches its own application of religion to society and what is called Sharia law. Hypocrites, liars, Uncle Sam, we no longer believe you.

You spread a layer of historical amnesia across our collective consciousness like a thin, sticky veneer, telling us we were never a Christian nation at our roots when the record, when it is examined objectively, plainly states that we were. Your public schools, with the Department of Education and the Captain's Tower of the ship, your public schools revise history to tell us we were founded as a racist, fascist country that has oppressed and plundered the earth. In fact, our founding documents tell us otherwise.

Though admittedly imperfect, our charter, which also includes the Declaration of Independence in addition to the Constitution, everyone has embraced this in the past, the Declaration says it establishes principles that have brought more liberty to the world than any other nation in history because it says in part, we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Famously, right?

That creator, that creator who has given us unalienable rights is implicitly understood to be the God of the Christian Bible. Our early colonial legislatures and Congress itself, as well as the executive and judicial branches, were soaked in Christian principle, prayer, and piety. Yes, the federal government in its early days was soaked in Christian principle, prayer, and piety. And the Establishment Clause, that is, Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, spoke specifically and narrowly to keep the federal government from making one Christian denomination, the state religion, as it had been in England.

They were fleeing from this. They were holding this at bay, they were. Otherwise, Christians in particular had complete liberty to practice their faith in every sphere of America's life, including government and politics. So, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, because you stretch the truth. Remember, Uncle Stretch was my lying uncle.

Well, my lying uncle in Washington, D.C., Uncle Sam is also an Uncle Stretch, and your understanding of the separation of church and state, Uncle Stretch, is not in the Constitution, nor in the thoughts and intent of the authors of that Constitution. You lie when you say it is. We no longer believe you, Uncle Sam. The devil was the first liar, the father of lies, and you in Washington, D.C. are his children. Well, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, you also profess to be guardian of the Second Amendment, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, right?

Liar. We the people no longer believe you. We the people know what you would do if we let you. The history of government is one of tyranny and oppression, where those who gravitate to power somehow succumbing to the blandishments of the evil one who first hissed to Eve, you shall become as gods. And such, most of a lot of you who go to Washington, D.C. think you are.

You think you are gods. You mimic the attributes of God. God is all-powerful. It's called his omnipotence. God is all-powerful, and you grasp at this attribute by seizing all of the reins of power you can.

And it's never enough for you. You will not, and you cannot cease in grasping after power over us until you're stopped dead in your tracks by the people. And that is why we need our guns, Uncle Sam. That is why the Founding Fathers wrote this liberty into the Constitution. And that is why you need to take them away from us, our guns.

You must seize our guns, not to keep us safe, but to keep your encroachment of our liberties safe, to keep that a safe enterprise. So, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, when you tell us you want to take our guns for our own safety or to reduce crime, yes, you want to take our guns to reduce crime. Look at the stringent crime and gun laws that are in Chicago, the worst in the nation, and yet they have the highest murder rate in the nation as well. Or you want to take our guns away because in the face of mass shootings, we must do something. You wring your hands.

You cry out in hysteria. We must do something. No, Uncle Sam. No, Uncle Stretch. We must not do something.

We must do the right thing. We must think this through. We must give the citizens back their guns in places like Chicago. So, Uncle Sam, we no longer believe you when you tell us these things. You're a liar.

You are of your father, the devil, who is the father of lies. Well, also, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, you tell us that you are the guardian of the Fourth Amendment, which secures us in our persons, houses, papers, and effects, as the Constitution says, as that Fourth Amendment says, which secures us in our persons, houses, papers, and effects. That is, it gives us our right to, it acknowledges, doesn't give it to us, it acknowledges our right to live private lives. You, Uncle Sam, you, Uncle Stretch, tell us that you're the guardian of this amendment. We say liar.

We no longer believe you, Uncle Sam. And I have three letters for you to prove this, Uncle Sam. NSA, the National Security Agency, right? President Truman founded the NSA back in 1952 in complete secrecy. We haven't known about it until recently.

Your website for the NSA, Uncle Sam, tells us, and I quote, now that cyberspace is the primary arena in which we protect information, we, get that, we protect information. No, you gather and use information against us, NSA. They go on to say, we are working towards shaping an agile and secure operational cyber environment where we can successfully outmaneuver any adversary, unquote. Oh, yes, I should say so. And that includes us as an adversary.

The American people, NSA, the voracious appetite with which the NSA sucks up information in cyberspace means that at just about any time they choose, they may access any activity that can be electronically recorded. And that includes every keystroke, every tweet, every text, every phone call we make. We already know that it is your purpose to dominate the human domain, as it is referred to, and complete awareness of all that we communicate as Americans, as citizens of the United States, is a giant step towards that goal. Your aspiration to be as God's, as we pointed out earlier, achieving omniscience as well.

Not only omnipotence, not only being all powerful, but also achieving omniscience, that is being all-knowing. That is your aspiration to be as God's. It is your impulse. It is your necessity. If you are going to be as God's, you must achieve omniscience.

You must be all-knowing, federal government, Uncle Sam. Omniscience is an attribute of the God of the Bible, and every petty devil tries to mimic it in its grasp for power. That is your life. This is your life, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, to be omniscient, to be all-knowing, and the NSA is one of your vehicles towards achieving that end. In addition, all lesser gods seek this attribute as well, not only the federal Uncle Sam, but also Google, Facebook, Amazon, and on and on we could go.

They scoop up and they store everything about us in order to sell, troll, and control as much of what we are as possible, don't they? They sell, troll, and control as much of what we are as they can. Is there no privacy anymore? That's a true rhetorical question, isn't it? Is there no privacy anymore?

No, there is not. So, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, when you tell us that you wish to secure us in our persons, houses, papers, and effects, that is, secure our right to live private lives, we no longer believe you. Liar. Also, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, remember Uncle Stretch was the nickname given to one of my maternal uncles who had trouble with the truth. Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, when you tell us that you are protecting us from terrorism and terrorists, we no longer believe you.

Liar. If you were truly interested in securing us, you would close our borders to illegal immigration, for example. You would build a wall on our southern border, you would deport those here illegally, and you would lock up dangerous felons. So, please don't tell us that a wall would not work. Tell that to Mexico, they have a wall on their southern border, meanwhile flooding our northern border with illegals.

And tell us that a wall would not work. We do not believe you. Tell that to Israel, which when it built a wall on its border with Palestinian Gaza, saw a dramatic drop in terrorism from there. And also tell that to the ancient Chinese, who effectively screened out barbarians for centuries with the Great Wall of China. And tell that to the Roman Emperor Hadrian as well, who kept out the wild Scots and Picts for a century.

He did this with his wall, Hadrian's wall. So, on and on we could go. If you were truly interested in minimizing terror in the United States, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, you would implement President Trump's travel ban on immigrants from known hotbeds of Islamic militancy. You would do things like end the visa lottery program that allowed in that terrorist in New York City a while back. And you would also carefully profile individuals, Uncle Sam.

You would carefully profile individuals seeking to enter the country, even as Israel has done effectively over the decades, minimizing terror and terrorists within its border. You would track down known hotbeds of radicalism in this country, like mosques with radical imams, or individuals you have already identified as being radicalized, and they're just ticking time bombs waiting to go off, so to speak. You would wake up, Uncle Sam, if you were truly interested in protecting us and minimizing terror in the United States. You would wake up from your hypnotic slumber of political correctness, and you would do the practical things that work.

Instead, that agency charged with securing us is another wonder of paradox labeling, isn't it? Paradox labeling. Homeland security, when it is actually just the opposite of its name. Paradox labeling. Homeland security you have given to this agency.

Not only is our homeland not secure, but this agency is training us, citizens, into compliant sheep, easy to control, and herd, later into compounds camps and cosmopolitan centers, right? You are training us to be compliant sheep, easy to control, and herd into compounds camps and cosmopolitan centers. Homeland security. Homeland security now strips, grasps, and gropes, pushes, and prods us in security lines at airports, and stadium events, and now even at open air malls and city squares, like the lighting of the Christmas tree in New York City here recently.

And when the time comes, dear listener, know that Uncle Sam is planning this for sure. When the time comes, Homeland Security will see to it that we will be more than ready to go to the trains, to march into the camps, and to line up to go into the showers, just like they did at Dachau and Treblinka. The prime directive of homeland security is securing Uncle Sam against we, the people. Make no mistake about this. Prime directive of homeland security is not securing us, the citizens of this country, but the prime directive of homeland security is securing Uncle Sam against we, the people.

And this is abundantly evident to us in the way in which you keep information from us too as well. Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch. For example, it is clear after all these years that there was more than one shooter at Dealey Plaza in 1963 when President Kennedy was assassinated. We know this now from the documents released from the CIA and the FBI by President Trump. So we don't believe you anymore in anything, Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch.

It is also clear from eyewitness testimony too and digital recordings of both sight and sound and the contradictory briefings by law enforcement that there were multiple shooters in Las Vegas as well on October 1st. And yet what are we told? That there was only one shooter. Again, even as it was in Dallas in 1963. Please stop insulting the intelligence of the American public, Uncle Sam.

Tell us the truth. You're liars. We don't believe you anymore. Uncle Sam, Uncle Stretch, when you tell us you are protecting us from terrorism and terrorists, we don't believe you anymore. You are true sons of your father, the devil, who is a liar from the beginning and the father of lies.

This is who you are, Uncle Sam. Uncle Sam and Uncle Stretch, when you tell us there is no deep state, as we call it, or no shadow government, as it's sometimes called, or no stay-behind government of Obama bureaucrats to frustrate and delay the program of President Trump. We say, liar, we don't believe you anymore. There is indeed a deep state, a stay-behind government, a fourth branch of government, as Mark Levin calls it, which indeed it is. It is obvious to us by now, Uncle Sam, that you, the arrogant, evil, lying federal system.

You have your own agenda, and it is not the agenda of the American people. We, the people. Your agenda is for yourselves and for growing government bigger and bigger, more oppressive and more tyrannical all the time. So, Uncle Sam, we do not believe you anymore when you tell us that you serve us. No, you are serving us, all right.

You are serving us up. Rare, medium, or well done is how you're serving us, and you intend indeed to use us for your own advantage to grow your own power and wealth and status in order that you might become, as Satan whispered to Eve, to become as gods. So, we no longer believe you. We no longer believe your mouthpieces in the media, and we will develop our own alternatives as well.
