Greetings. This is Pastor David Bass at New Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church with the moment of truth, where we challenge you to think through an important issue of life and faith.

And today I want to continue to make my way through the Declaration of Independence with you and ask you whether the conditions under which our founding fathers declared their independence from Great Britain are any way compatible with the conditions here in the United States of America today that we should declare our independence not from the principles and constitution and ways of life of the American way of life, especially the constitution, but rather from the deep state.

Should we declare our independence from the awful monster that has grown up in the shadow of the constitution that has now become the deep state which has replaced and displaced a constitutional government? Should we declare our independence from it? And I would submit to you that yes we should. Towards that end, we have been going through the particulars of the Declaration of Independence. We have gone through the soaring and lofty declaration of our rights of man.

That is, we have all been endowed by our creator, which Joe Biden should probably brush up on, right? We have been endowed by our creator. He was afraid to say, creator, that is God of heaven. Indeed, has endowed us with certain unalienable rights. That among these, not exclusive, not only, and not just life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but also many, many other liberties, which the Crown and Parliament of Britain transgressed on a regular basis.

And these are the gory details to which most do not go to in articulating why we are to declare our independence from the deep state. But as we go into those particulars, over 30 of them, we find that there is much overlap between the tyranny of Great Britain and the tyranny of the deep state. Oh, tyranny doesn't change. Times and faces change, but the nature, qualities, the attributes of tyranny remain consistent. Ever since the fall in the garden, Satan was and remains a tyrant.

And he tyrannized over Adam and Eve. He's tyrannized over a portion of the human seed ever since. And not for those of us that have been liberated in Christ, of course, and those of us who have been liberated in Christ oftentimes transcend the government of tyranny in the political sphere as well. And our founding fathers did, and they established a constitutional republic. It is my proposition that we should indeed begin to establish Christian constitutional republics, overt, clear, explicit Christian constitutional republics, and do this all over the world.

This is Christ's ambition. This is gospel ambition. We should be establishing Christian constitutional republics all across the world. There are over 130 million Christians in China alone. China could easily establish force of its will and the force of its good and the force of its spirit could indeed establish a Christian constitutional republic in China.

That would go a long, long ways towards establishing a world congress of Christian constitutional republics and constitutional republics thereafter. And this can and should be done across the globe. An ambitious project, an ambitious project for the millennium, I would assert to you. Not in a few years, not in a hundred years, not in 200 years, but probably in the course of a thousand years this could be established. But it indeed is a vision for the future, a gospel vision for the future.

But before that happens, we have to reestablish a constitutional republic here and tweak it such that it is a Christian constitutional republic. And towards that end, we must go through Jefferson's particulars, over 30 of them, as to why we must declare our independence from our present system, which has become a deep state system, articulated very clearly for us by many commentators. But I want to continue to go through the particulars of the Declaration of Independence.

Now I have outlined them and I can send you my particular outline of these over 30 particulars into which most commentators refuse to dissent because they're gory, because they're ad nauseum, but they are very much applicable to our situation today. And let me go on now, begin to take up where I left off last week. And I am under G now, G under 0.5. And G reads this way. That is the particular of why, one of the particulars as to why the American colonists declared their independence from Great Britain.

And we'll see the tyranny has very many overlaps with the tyranny of the deep state today. So let me read it. He, that is King George, has endeavored to prevent the population of these states for that purpose, obstructing the laws for naturalization of foreigners, refusing to pass others to encourage their migration hither and raising the conditions of new appropriations of lands, unquote. That's G particular under 0.5 of the, some of the particulars of why the founders declared their independence from Britain.

Well, the one I just read for you in an ironic twist of fate, King George III manipulated the issue of immigration in exactly a 180 degree opposite direction of the tyrants of the deep state today. But it had the same goal. That's the irony. It had the same goal. In our day, the deep state is attempting to flood and overwhelm the very integrity of what it means to be an American with hordes of undefined, unexamined immigrants who have nothing but antipathy for liberty and identity as Americans.

It is an international strategy, which I have mentioned before, an international strategy to degrade independence. Now, King George III sought to limit the immigration into the colonies of those who eagerly labor to establish independence and prosperity. That is the prosperity and independence of their own and that of the new nation. The tactics were polar opposites, but the goals were identical. That is, thwart the independence of the Americans with the issue of immigration.

One, by limiting immigrants who sought identity as free, independent men. That was the strategy of King George. And the other, by flooding a country of free men with those who have no interest in being free, independent and prosperous. Oh, tactics were different, but the goals were the same. The deep state today seeks to create a sea of slaves dependent upon the global elite and the other sought to create a sea of slaves dependent upon the King of England.

Can you see why it is imperative to declare once again our independence from our independence from tyranny, from the tyranny of the deep state, the shadow government that now lords over us. Oh, the issue of immigration, always a tyrant's tool. Well, there was also then another point to which the column is protested. And let me read for you that one. It's H under my construction here of the Declaration of Independence.

He, that is King George, has obstructed the administration of justice by refusing his assent laws for establishing judiciary powers. Oh, no civilized people can exist without courts to minister justice. It's the prime directive of government. Oh, the Bible tells us, justice shalt thou do in the land I'm giving you. Justice and only justice shalt thou do, unquote.

King George sought to administer justice, quote, unquote, preemptorily by adjudicating cases himself or through judges appointed by himself and often sent overseas to the colonies. The Americans, on the other hand, previous to George, they were accustomed for centuries as colonists to judging matters in colonial courts established by themselves. But now, under King George, they were forced to have any court they previously or newly established recognized by the crown before it became operational.

And compounding this tyrannical imposition, the passive-aggressive King George refused to recognize the courts established by law by the colonial legislatures. Instead, he sought to micromanage his wards, the colonies and the colonists. Well, this has implication for the next point of contention, and it was, I, under my construction, that he, that is King George, has made judges dependent on his will alone for the tenure of their offices and the amount and payment of their salaries, unquote. Oh, dear brothers and sisters, throughout history, one of the most effective methods for gaining and securing power is to buy and control judges.

It happens in our land today. That's one of the treasonous and tyrannical points of the deep state, isn't it? Cash captures courts. Jingle jinxes judges. In establishing Israel's system of courts, as she took possession of Canaan, God warned her judges.

He said, you shall not pervert justice, you shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous, unquote, from Deuteronomy chapter 16. And our founding fathers as well knew this by hard experience. The judges presiding over colonial courts were hand-selected by the king, and they were not only predisposed to favor the crown, but were also entirely dependent upon the king for the renewal of their term of office and the salary which they drew.

This is one reason why our founding fathers built into the Constitution the provision that federal judges are appointed to lifetime terms, so that their administration of justice, at least ostensibly, can be free of influence of manipulative executives and legislatures. Well, then, as a corollary to this protest, to this redress of grievance, there was another corollary, and that is, he, that is the king, has erected a multitude of new offices and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat up their substance, unquote. Do you recognize this tactic of tyranny, dear listener, this tactic tyranny? It's not new, it is old.

It is the absolute pestilence of locusts and cockroaches, implied by that term swarms of officers, right? That is bureaucrats. It is not new to us in the creaking, groaning vat of vermin that has burst upon us in the decades of the deep state. Also, during the colonial period under King George III, the king's maniacal obsession to control caused him to create new offices, as Jefferson put, that is, lots of bureaucracies to monitor and regulate the colonialists' trade and taxes and guns and churches and militias and press, oh, every facet of the colonist's life.

And, of course, to pay the salaries of all these hundreds of bureaucrats swarming amongst them, the king raised taxes. These bureaucrats, always conscious that their place and paycheck depended upon bleeding the colonists like leeches, these bureaucrats always sided with the king against the colonists, kept them under their control as much as possible. Oh, dear listener, nothing has changed, has it?

While we were looking at our devices and watching football and building our stock portfolios, the deep state has been steadily building a multitude of new offices, that is, countless, useless bureaucracies, staffed with useless, numberless bureaucrats, who indeed are swarms of officers who harass our people. That is, they seize our bank accounts, like the IRS does, or they confiscate our land, like the Environmental Protection Agency does. They take our children, like Child Protective Services do, or the National Education Association, or Administration, excuse me.

They appropriate our property, like the Justice Department does under RICO statutes. They silence our voices, like media censorship. They take away our guns with a myriad gun bills all across the country, like in Virginia, or the Bureau of Tobacco, Alcohol, and Firearms. They have strangled and stifled the traditional and natural medicine in favor of big pharma, like the Federal Drug Administration does. Or they make it difficult or impossible for small family farms to produce or even exist in favor of big ag, like the Department of Agriculture does.

And they put alternative candidates and measures on the election ballot, like the Federal Election Administration refuses to let alternative candidates, alternative ballot measures originating amongst the people. They disallow them on our ballots. All of these, and so much, much more. All of these and all of this has eaten out our substance, as Jefferson puts it. That is, they've caused us impossible costs to fight, and then burdensome costs to finance.

This article alone is reason enough to rebel against our present form of government and institute a new one. Our founding fathers would be impatiently exhorting us, what in the world are you waiting for? You already live under a tyranny worse than we did, right? In many ways, we do. In many ways, we are recalcitrant and lazy and brain dead.

Well, there was another factor here as well. We're not done. Far from over. These articles of declaration, indeed, are reason and grounds, then, for declaring one's independence from tyranny. And we should use these articles as reason to declare our independence from the deep state.

And this is K, then, an article which reads, he, that is the king, has kept among us in times of peace standing armies without the consent of our legislatures. Oh, colonists had to endure the indignity of a standing army in their midst. All of them, to a man, considered themselves good subjects of the British crown. Why then the need for permanent, ever-present armies of foreign redcoats? It couldn't be for self-defense.

The colonists themselves had for centuries raised their own militias to defend themselves against the Indians and the French. The British were absent without leave when it came to defending the colonies. Presence of these surly, arrogant, abusive soldiers could only be for one reason, to keep the colonists in subjection. Jefferson and the colonists chafed at this unnecessary measure. While the necessities of our modern world may dictate the need for a permanent standing army in our country, there are several features that continue to match up with the abuses our founding fathers suffered.

And that brings me to my next point, then, L under five. And that reads, he, that is, King George, has affected to render the military independent of and superior to the civil power. Oh, dear listener, since the days of decadent latter Roman Empire and the Praetorian Guard effectively ruled Rome, tyranny is invariably recognized when the military is, as Jefferson puts it, independent of and superior to the civil power. Armies are mobilized to defend the people against an external enemy, excuse me. Not, armies are not mobilized to oppress the people by an internal elite.

But this is precisely what the British army did to the colonists and what the deep state is doing to us. They, under King George, were an authority under themselves, untethered from the local colonial legislatures. And for this reason, our constitution provides for the elected civilian president to be the commander in chief of the armed forces. Very wisely put by the founders. The military power is therefore subject to the civilian power.

The president is therefore ultimately accountable to the people for decisions he makes about war and peace. Just as Lyndon Baines Johnson left office in disgrace over the unpopular Vietnam War, which he vigorously pursued as commander in chief. Well, so, all American presidents are accountable to the people for their conduct in military affairs. But this aim has been frustrated by what President Eisenhower called the military-industrial complex. It's the essence of the deep state.

Military-industrial complex was Eisenhower's particular name for it as it was taking shape after World War II. Oh, if Eisenhower were alive today, he too would call what has grown from a baby calamari into a monstrous giant squid. He would call it the deep state. So make no mistake, the vast military, the limitless bureaucracy, the unaccountable, nameless, faceless trolls in Washington, D.C., the bloated industry that supplies our military with beans, bullets, and bombs. All of this has morphed over the last two centuries to become an independent, unaccountable entity unto itself.

Jefferson and the founding fathers would have recognized it immediately and identified it with the British army of their day. Oh, dear listener, but the collusion did not end there. That brings me to M. And it reads, He, that is King George, has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution and unacknowledged by our laws, giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation. That is, King George III conspired with the British Parliament to oppress the American colonies. Not only did he marshal all the forces of the crown to oppress us, but he also then marshaled the forces of the Parliament.

And in collusion with Parliament, King George III continued to oppress the colonists. And the rest of the articles declaring our independence from Great Britain stem, then, from this collusion with Parliament. So, M, number one, under M, let me read it for you. For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us. Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us.

Oh, the colonists, our brothers in time. The colonists had these standing armies in amongst them, not even quartered in bases far away. The insufferable indignities of these quarterings are difficult for us to imagine. Not only were the individual colonists expected to support foreign British soldiers at their own expense, feeding and housing them, but also the colonists were expected to put up with these surly, rude, crude, and offensive attitudes and behaviors of these belligerent hostiles.

This policy also served the dual role of keeping a watchful eye on the colonists and to control any rebellious attitude that might develop a particular household in which the soldiers dwelt. Oh, it was not unknown to have these soldiers seize property or rape and molest the wives and daughters of their hosts. And this issue was always near the top of the list of colonists' grievances. In fact, it is the third liberty listed in the Bill of Rights, and it reads this way. No soldier shall, in time of peace, be quartered in any house without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law, unquote.

But this situation also led to an even more egregious abuse, a more egregious abuse of that power that enraged the founding fathers. And that was number two. There developed a virtual two-tiered system of justice. Listen to this. For protecting them, that is the soldiers quartered in homes, for protecting them by a mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states.

Oh, there developed in the colonies a virtual two-tiered system of justice. One level of justice for the general mass of the colony, and one level for just us. Justice for just us. That is the British masters. To endure crude and coarse insults and demeanors of malevolent soldiers was one thing.

But what were the colonists to do when these same crude Brits stole the silver, molested your wife, raped your mother, or killed the master of the house? What recourse was there? They were immune from colonial courts. And the martial law courts of the British army routinely exonerated these interlopers, and they went free to continue their predatory behavior unchecked. The same could be said for any bureaucrat of the British crown who served in the colonies.

They were of a class apart from the common rabble of colonists. They quartered soldiers. The quartered soldiers, excuse me, were only the most egregious and ubiquitous examples. Any crimes committed by the functionaries of the crown were tried in England, if they were tried at all. Oh, isn't it so gladsome that things aren't that way anymore, dear listener?

That there's a two-tiered system of justice, one for the average American, which is strict and exact and weighted in favor of the deep state, and then another standard of justice for the privileged few, that is the bureaucrats and the political elite of the deep state. Oh, oh, oh, wait a minute. Come to think of it, there is a two-tiered system of justice, if we're honest with ourselves about the last few decades of American history.

And of course, there is the glaring example of Hillary Clinton, whose abuse of her security clearance revealed by the disclosure of over 33,000 emails makes her worthy of wearing prison orange for the rest of her life. Oh, it's a flattering color for her anyway. She should submit to it. Lock her up, lock her up, lock her up goes cry, right?

Well, the entire cast of clandestine sewer rats who surrounded her exoneration like FBI director James Comey or Andrew McCabe, and then who executed the treasonous backup plan to frame Donald Trump for so-called Russian collusion, people like Peter Stroke or Lisa Page or Ron Rosenstein, they're all walking away scot-free. They should all be given swift trials and shot at dawn the next day for treason. But they're all certified members of the deep state, paid off and privileged, and consequently, they suffer no consequences. Examples of the strict justice for the but not for me syndrome could be multiplied on nauseam, right?

Sleepy Joe Biden and his ne'er-do-well son Hunter, the Burisma scandal in Ukraine, right? Billions of dollars. Senator Dianne Feinstein, who harbored a spy on her staff for the Chinese Politburo for 20 years in exchange for lucrative business deals in China. All of these and more demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt that the two-tiered system of justice present at the time of the Declaration of Independence has resurrected its ugly corpse like a zombie of tyranny, guaranteed to return when a people takes its liberties for granted, as we have.

The British Crown and Parliament embodied the corpse of tyranny in our founding Father's Day, and the deep state does so for us today. And it's time to withdraw our consent to be governed by them, even as our founding fathers did. Oh, dear listener, walk with me continuously through the Declaration of Independence.
