Greetings, this is Pastor David Bass at New Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church with the Moment of Truth, where we challenge you to think through an important issue of life and faith. And today, I want to say how delighted I am to be here with you at News Talk 1079. This is my inaugural broadcast on News Talk 1079. And what a delight it is. Very refreshing to be here with Neil and the gang and all the host of programs that are here on News Talk 1079.

So I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship, not only then with radio station News Talk 1079, if I haven't said that enough yet, but also hopefully with a fruitful and long-lasting relationship with you all, too, as you come over and hear our broadcast, our sermons, which we hope then to blend a little bit of politics and religion because they don't exist in separate spheres, but they do overlap. We can distinguish between politics and religion, but they do interact. They do intersect, don't they? And it's our purpose then to unfold as best we can the way of God in the way of politics as well and the way of culture and society too.

And so today, I would like to begin this inaugural broadcast with nine propositions, eight propositions, excuse me, eight propositions for economy's sake, eight propositions for a Christian millennium. Yes, this world, this country is on a course of collision with socialism and frankly, outright Marxism, communism. And the American system, as it is presently constituted, is not going to last. And you don't have to be a prophet or the son of a prophet to see that coming.

Indeed, with the chaos around us, with the medical tyranny that is quickly descending on us and the threat then of Antifa and Black Lives Matter in bringing socialism and communism to the United States of America, we can safely say that the system we now live under is destined then for a final consummation. I'm not sure what that's going to look like. I'm not sure what the collapse, the fall, the destruction will be, but it is coming. And in many respects, it's overdue. The deep state, which has so infected our constitutional republic, must be destroyed.

It must be rooted out and weeded out. And like a metastasized cancer that has swept through the body of the victim, indeed, that is what has happened with the deep state, such that to extricate the deep state is also to kill the patient, to cut off the head of a conjoined twin, which the deep state is indeed like a conjoined twin, cutting off one head will kill the other as well. And this is the state to which we have come with the United States of America. And so what I propose to build on the ashes of what will burn and fall is a Christian constitutional republic.

From whence will come a Congress of Christian constitutional republics, which will indeed last for a Christian millennium. Indeed, the Bible tells us that this is what Christ will bring to fruition, at least at some point in the redemptive history of our world. So eight propositions for a Christian millennium. Number one, there will be a world government. Ah, this is so true.

Anyone who resists it is resisting the inevitable. There will be a world government. And it might as well be, and indeed ought to be, Christian, that world government. One of my favorite commentators, one of my favorite theologians, Gary North, has said this, and it really caught my attention. Gary North is a Christian economist, and he has also broadened out then to examine the world and theology, and has a pretty comprehensive worldview.

And in that worldview, in his Christian worldview, he states, there will be a world government, and it might as well be, and indeed ought to be, Christian. Even as Isaiah says, there will indeed be a king of all nations. Isaiah chapter 9, verses 6 and 7 says this. We usually hear this around Christmas, but we need to hear this all year round. Isaiah 9 says, for to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government, and of peace there will be no end. Hear that again, dear listener. Increase of his government. That is happening now. Of the increase of his government, and of peace there will be no end.

On the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice, and with righteousness, from this time forth, and forevermore, the zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. Isaiah 9 tells us, indeed, there will be a world government, and it might as well be, and indeed ought to be Christian, led by Christ. Our second proposition for a Christian millennium, I'll expand on these in days to come, over time. Number two, the second proposition for a Christian millennium, that world government's representative body.

Indeed, a world government must have a representative body, not a tyrant, not a king, not a lord, but indeed, a representative body must be composed of a worldwide assembly of Christian republics. A worldwide assembly of Christian republics. Expand your vision, dear listener. Instead of a United Nations, there must be a world congress composed of representatives from each Christian constitutional republic around the world. No UN.

Indeed, rather, a congress of Christian constitutional republics. Israel practiced this early in its history, appointing tribal heads to represent the people. Indeed, a congregation of republican representatives serves this purpose very well. That's my second proposition. That world government's representative body must be composed of a worldwide assembly of Christian republics, not a United Nations as we have it now.

That's evil, and we all know how evil the United Nations can be. Thirdly, and I'll expand on that. I'll expand on that second point further in weeks to come, but my third proposition for a Christian millennium is, history has shown that the freest and most prosperous societies were those constituted as Christian republics. This is why we must have the Christian constitutional republic as the model all around the world. We have seen this throughout history.

For example, England during the interregnum with Oliver Cromwell as lord protector. Indeed, this was a free and prosperous period in English's, in England's history, excuse me, and we could very well model our constitutional republic on that of England's constitutional republic period during the interregnum, that is, between the kings.

Also, the Dutch Republic is a good example of what a Christian constitutional republic can look like, or the Swiss confederation composed of independent free cantons, another good example of a constitutional republic, and what could then be a Christian constitutional republic, and of course, the 13 states of the American colonies. This is probably the finest example of what a Christian constitutional republic would look like, the 13 states of the American colonies, and we must harken back, especially us, we must harken back to those models of a Christian constitutional republic, for that is what they were.

The crucible of redemptive history is dear and costly for human striving and for individual dreams and aspirations, but that crucible of redemptive history proves the worth of human governments over time. And if we will but learn from history, we will quickly see that a Christian constitutional republic provides the best model of human government yet seen on the stage of human history. It's taken millennia to refine. Let's not lose those lessons. Well, tyrannies have been destroyed, haven't they?

Pagan kingdoms like the four envisioned by Daniel, the head of gold, the shoulders of silver, the waist of bronze, and of course, the feet of clay and iron, or the monarchy. All of these have been developed and tried and found wanting. It is a constitutional republic that has been found to be the freest and most prosperous for society and culture. Yes, that's number three, a third proposition for a Christian millennium that history has shown the freest and most prosperous societies were those constituted as Christian republics.

And then fourthly, our fourth proposition for a Christian millennium, as such, Christian republics are obliged to foster, inculcate, and establish them in other nation states throughout the world until, as the prophets say, Christ shall speak peace to the nations. His rule shall be from sea to sea and from the river to the ends of the earth, as Zechariah saw this day. And I have come to the conclusion myself that it is part of the great commission to do this. There is no sphere of human existence that is not to be transformed by the gospel. Dominion is our destiny, as revelation so clearly portrays.

I'm preaching through revelation, and we see that Christ is taking possession of his inheritance, the seven-sealed scroll. And so dominion is our destiny. All of life, whether it's spiritual or physical or social, cultural, and yea, even political, all of life is meant to be under the transformative power of Christ and his gospel. Consequently, established Christian constitutional republics are responsible for planting and nurturing and unfolding within the larger Congress of Christian republics. Other nascent republics and tribes and tongues and peoples and nations, as Revelation says, yet struggling to form themselves.

Yes, we are obliged to foster and inculcate and establish other Christian constitutional republics around the world. That's our fourth proposition for a Christian millennium. Our fifth proposition for a Christian millennium is, number five, Christianity is destined to be the religion of the whole world. And Christ is destined to be the ruler of the whole world. And the Holy Spirit is destined to be the power of the whole world within this sphere of time and space before our Lord's return.

This indeed is biblical theology, biblical eschatology, because the scriptures and the test of redemptive history to these points have clearly demonstrated this emerging fact. All through the Bible, this is revealed to us, where God says in Psalm chapter two, I will tell of the decree. The Lord said to me, you are my son. Today I have begotten you. Ask of me and I will make the nations your heritage and the ends of the earth, your possession.

You shall break them with a rod of iron, with a rod of iron, excuse me, and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. And John tells of this fact too, which is present today. He says in Revelation, then I saw thrones and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also, I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reign with Christ for a thousand years, unquote, from Revelation chapter 20.

Redemptive history is clear on these things and it's clear for any eye to see. Christianity has grown and flourished over 2,000 years now, like the proverbial mustard seed, as Christ puts it, small and insignificant at first, but now a mighty tree throughout the world and still growing. Christianity's dominion is inexorable. It cannot be stopped. It will make of the whole creation a dominion for our Lord.

Well, number six, the sixth proposition for a Christian millennium is indeed number six. The United States Constitution is thus far in redemptive history, the finest framework for human government yet produced. Oh, it must be the model. It must be the model for the world. But it's not perfect. It can be perfected in part by making Christ, not the people, the chief authority throughout its various components. And I am not of the conviction that the United States Constitution is an inspired document, per se, like Holy Writ. Well, that being said, I am of the opinion that the United States Constitution is nevertheless the best charter of self-government for any people under the rule and discipline of the Christian faith yet produced by our race. But it can be improved.

And for example, the preamble begins, we the people? Huh. Our present Constitution makes the people supreme. This is one of its major weaknesses. Who is it that is supreme?

It is, of course, obvious to us, right? But not to the world. And God will honor our next Constitution all the more if we do acknowledge this fact, indeed, that Christ ordains and establishes our Constitution, not the people. Okay. That is number six.

Number seven. The seventh proposition for a Christian millennium is, no tyrant surrenders power without resisting. And consequently, we must be prepared to fight spiritually and culturally and politically and militarily to establish a worldwide system of Christian constitutional republics. Yes. This has been the case from the beginning of redemptive history, beginning in the garden, right?

I will put enmity between you and the woman, God said to the serpent, and between your offspring and her offspring. He shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel. There's been warfare ever since. And it is first and foremost a spiritual warfare. Chairman Mao, for example, says political power comes out of the barrel of the gun, but we say spiritual power comes out of the blood of the cross.

The Bible testifies to this. The Bible, Paul says, the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but have divine power to destroy strongholds. Revelation is crystal clear as how to how we conquer. And Revelation says, for example, they have conquered him. That is, the saints have conquered the beast by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they love not their lives, even unto death.

Oh, yes, it is weapons, spiritual weapons, the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. This is how we conquer. Nevertheless, we must acknowledge that we are in a warfare. Dear listener, there are no noncombatants. There are no safe places behind the lines.

Every Christian is on the front lines of this war. Yes, that's number seven, a seventh proposition for a Christian millennium is that no tyrant surrenders power without resisting. And so we must be prepared to fight spiritually, culturally, politically, and militarily to establish a worldwide system of Christian constitutional republics. And then finally, number eight, our eighth proposition for a Christian millennium. No true Christian believes that biblical dominion can be achieved apart from a thorough worldwide conversion and reformation of the majority of all tribes, tongues, peoples, and nations.

There must be a worldwide revival. There must be a worldwide reformation for this to happen. And therefore, evangelism is a priority for the church. We must preach the gospel in season and out of season, as Paul says. We must do this around the globe.

We must bring the gospel to every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. Jesus came and said to them, all authority in heaven and on earth, from Matthew, right? Matthew chapter 28, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age.

Yes, dear listener, all authority has been given to Christ. In fact, we have borrowed this in the Latin, omnis protestas, all authority. And we have made one of our websites. Indeed, omnisprotestas.org, all authority. You will find on this website, my sermons from the radio going four years back.
