Greetings, this is Pastor David Bass at New Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church with a moment of truth where we challenge you to think through an important issue of life and faith. And today I want to challenge you to think about if we are to prosecute a new American revolution against the deep state, as we have patiently laid out before a candid world, as Jefferson called the world over his audience, right? If we're going to prosecute this new American revolution against the deep state, what will take its place? Over the course of four broadcasts, I have assiduously taken us point by point through the Declaration of Independence, all of it, showing how the 29 particular complaints against King George III and Parliament and the British people, how these complaints bear an uncanny similarity to those of our generation against the deep state of America. And what we concluded was that while times and faces change, the modus operandi of tyranny remains predictably the same because the nature, goals, and ambitions of tyranny and tyrants have been consistent throughout history. We see it playing out before us today in America. It is always Satan's trifecta. Power, pride, and plunder. That is Satan's trifecta. Power, pride, and plunder. Power to rule and destroy. Pride that exalts itself above heaven and their fellow men. And then plunder to indulge every whim and luxury. In order to achieve these ends, all tyrants, from Pharaoh to Caesar to King George to our present deep state, have acted consistently. If you would know the consistencies that we found in the Declaration and have not followed us with them, well, I urge you to review those broadcasts. They are archived on our website, omnispotestas.org. I have messages going four or five years back. And you can access all of those and see how we have been consistent in all of this at our website, which chronicles our radio ministry. And that website is omnispotestas.org. Let me spell that for you. It's Latin for all authority. All authority is indeed Christ's now. And we acknowledge this in all of our messages. And in particular, on our website, omnispotestas, all authority, O-M-N-I-S dash P-O-T-E-S-T-A-S dot org. Well, let's assume for a moment that we are able to utterly destroy the deep state. And how we are to do that will take up in a future broadcast. But there is a good and civilized way of doing this, and we'll detail how that can be done as it has been done in the past. And we are able to, let's just say that we are able to extricate that deep state root and branch from the soil of American life and culture. What would we plant in its place? Before we decide that, though, there are several misconceptions which must be dispelled. First of all, number one, it is impossible to reestablish the constitutional republic we once knew. This may be shocking and disconcerting to many of you, but I am persuaded that it is impossible to reestablish the constitutional republic that we once knew. It's one of the most difficult conclusions I've ever struggled to reconcile with my passion. Many of you know it. You've been following us over the years. I love the Constitution of the United States of America. It is the single most glorious and liberating political document ever composed, and I have spent years teaching it. I have spent years teaching its principles and its biblical roots. It must be, in fact, I'm persuaded that still it must be the seminal document for any future constitution, but it's not perfect. That being said, the Constitution and what has become of its spawn, that is the corrupt and debauched whore of Babylon, we now know as the American deep state, oh, the constitutional republic and the deep state are so inextricably intertwined that they cannot be separated. The tumor of the deep state is so organically a part of the vital organs of the Constitution and its system that to try and cut it out would kill the patient. Oh, I also use the analogy, can you remove one head of conjoined twins without killing them both? Well, neither can you remove the head of the deep state without killing the body. I have dealt with this more extensively in previous broadcasts. Just suffice it to say that history is replete with examples of civilizations which have strayed so far from the principles and values that made them great to begin with that there's no reforming them. All that remains is for them to be utterly destroyed and a new thing built on their ashes. And our study of the apocalypse provides two such examples. And that comes ready to hand for me because I'm preaching through the book of Revelation right now. And Revelation provides two examples of cultures and civilizations that were beyond reforming. All that remained for them was to be utterly destroyed and a new thing built in its place. Number one, Israel and its temple system. That is the story, part of the story of the apocalypse, is that Israel and its temple system was utterly destroyed. Israel became so sinful and corrupt that it rejected her Savior and Messiah, Jesus the Christ, when he came. In fact, Israel wickedly crucified the Lord of glory and persecuted his followers. And so God brought a pagan nation, that is Rome, to utterly destroy Jerusalem and the temple in AD 70. And what arose in place of the old covenant order was God's chosen nation, the church. Now the universal people of God, not just one ethnic nation. And then secondly, Rome was also utterly destroyed and a new thing built in its place. The great Roman Republic sank into the tyranny of the Roman Empire, beginning with Julius Caesar. In time, the empire decayed into such corruption and debauchery that there was no possibility of returning to her founding roots. All that was left was a slow destruction, beginning with the barbarian invasions in the third century. And what was built on the ashes of the Roman Empire by the church is what we now know today as Christendom or the powerful impact which Christianity has had on Western civilization. That's what we mean when we talk about Christendom. So it is my argument that the United States of America has reached such a point of no return. Tyranny and corruption have so completely enveloped us that there is no going back. We cannot find a path back to constitutional ways because the bridge has been destroyed, that compass lost, and our guide has been stabbed in the back. Oh, what's left? What is left then? Oh, what is left is the complete destruction of the United States constitutional system and a new thing constructed on the ashes. The left in our country is already doing this job of destruction we see around us, but they're not doing it in a planned, coherent, and constructive way. You can destroy constructively. Excuse me. You can destroy constructively. And they are destroying willy-nilly as the Marxists did, as Lenin did in Russia in 1917, and as the Haitians did to destroy Haiti or Venezuela. We see this all around us. Marxist Leninists have done this throughout modern history. That is, bring a nation into anarchy and chaos, which they are doing. This is a planned revolution. And, dear listener, bring America into anarchy and chaos, as we see in the streets, then in Portland, or in Los Angeles, or around the country now, right? Bring a nation into anarchy and chaos, and then impose the order, quote-unquote, of a totalitarian Marxist state. This is what's going on around us. We must be aware of it, and we must plan against it. We must plan for ourselves what will take the place of the deep state of America when it is dismantled and destroyed. Secondly, we must also realize that we cannot wait and see until after we destroy the deep state. What will take the place of the deep state? We can't just wait and see until after we destroy the deep state. No. History abhors a vacuum, dear listener. History will fill it with tyranny if we do not have a plan in place before we raise the rotten barn of the deep state. You can't replace something with nothing. One of my favorite commentators, Gary North, says about, indeed, the world coming. You can't replace something with nothing. Random revolution brings inevitable anarchy. Once again, history is replete with examples of what happens when a revolution is launched without regard to what will replace what is taken down. For example, in 18th century France, the aristocracy had for so long suppressed the peasants that when the lid finally blew in 1789, launching the French Revolution, there was no lack of pent-up resentment and rage. And that resentment and rage sustained the overthrow of the French nobility via the guillotine in what became known as the reign of terror. A reign of terror with guillotines is in America's future, too. But no careful thought in France was given to what would replace the monarchical form of government until after the bloodbath had started. The terminus of thoughtless terror is always tyranny. The end of terror is always tyranny. And that is what happened in the French Revolution leading right to its very end. That is, Napoleon, the tyrant Napoleon. Now, the same could be said of revolutions in places like Haiti and Venezuela. They were violent, impetuous revolutions that soon issued in dictatorial regimes led by Baby Doc Duvalier in Haiti, for example, and Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Oh, history is replete with examples of how anarchy leads to tyranny. The founding fathers, on the other hand, had the model of colonial legislatures, which they brought right into independence following the revolution. And additionally, the first constitution of the new nation was already under draft before the war was even over. There was not anarchy and chaos in America in its revolution. The Articles of Confederation were first drafted by Benjamin Franklin back in 1777, when the war for independence was still commencing. Revised then the Articles, revised by the delegate Silas Dean from Connecticut. And then the Articles of Confederation were given a final draft by delegate John Dickinson of Pennsylvania, who had started his own version as early as 1776. The founders are eager to have a constitution in place by the time the war was over. And so we see that the American Revolution was not as liable to get out of control as the French Revolution because of a plan and a skeletal framework of government institutions in place already. Now, we need the same thing for when the treasonous deep state of America is brought to the surface and into the light, brought to justice and completely destroyed from the face of the earth, the deep state of America. What will take the place of the once beloved constitutional republic, which is now an institutional rat pack? Once that constitutional republic, once that deep state lies in ashes and in ruin. If we don't do something, believe me, the anarchists will, the Marxist-Leninists who are planning the riots in the streets now. Indeed, Angela Davis says the present riots are training in preparation for revolution. And that is what's coming to America if we do not indeed have something of our own in place to take the place of the destroyed, rotten, corrupt, debauched deep state of America as it is presently constituted. Oh, what must replace the American constitutional republic is an explicit Christian constitutional republic. This we have asserted. This we have begun to outline and will fill in as we go along. But for now, we must assert that what must replace the American constitutional republic that is degenerated into the deep state of America is an explicitly Christian constitutional republic. This is what must take the place of the deep state as presently constituted. Oh, what is that, Pastor, you might say? Oh, all of that drama for this. All you've done, Pastor, is put Christian in front of constitutional republic. Is that what you've done? Wasn't this in our founding? That is that implicitly we were a Christian constitutional republic? What's the difference? Well, the difference is in the explicit self-conscious nature of the case, the explicit self-conscious nature of the case. I have come to see that one of the major deficiencies of our Constitution, and our Constitution is not perfect. It is not holy writ. It has deficiencies. And one of those is precisely that it does not frankly acknowledge who is sovereign over the nations. And that is, of course, Jesus the Christ. Psalm 2 is very frank and open about asserting this. Psalm number 2 says, As for me, I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill. The Lord said to me, You are my son. Today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. Now, therefore, O kings, be wise, be warned. O rulers of the earth, serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Oh, indeed, Jesus Christ is indeed king of kings and lord of lords. He asks of the father, and the father makes the nations his heritage, and the ends of the earth is Christ's possession. This is a major theme of the book of Revelation. In every other respect, our history does this. The rallying cry of the revolution among the common man was no king but Jesus. Did you know that? No king but Jesus was the rallying cry of the revolution. They were sick of tyranny, the tyranny of George III, the tyranny of kings, all through history, and so they asserted, our founders did, no king but Jesus. And as John Adams puts it as well, our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other. Oh, there is ample testimony, listener, to the enthronement of King Jesus in the hearts of America in her early years, in her early history, except for her constitution. Strangely silent on this. Implicitly, yes, and I've spent decades articulating and unfolding the biblical basis for the constitution. But the founders, for a number of reasons which we won't get into here and not today, the founders nevertheless fell short of this one crucial step. Why do, while I do not have the time at this juncture to lay out those reasons, one resource that does a credible job of doing it is a book called Political Polytheism, The Myth of Pluralism by Gary North. Gary North is a Christian economist who has developed a whole series of excellent writings from which I have drawn deeply in my articulation of our need for a Christian constitutional republic. One of those books is political polytheism, the myth of pluralism. Oh, there is a myth of pluralism in America today, as if we can get along just fine with atheists and with Luciferians and with Islamicists and have a perfectly free and normal functioning country. No, we can't. It's political polytheism, and it's a myth of pluralism. We cannot exist. We must have an explicitly Christian constitution. It is not as if the founders didn't have fit examples. They could have if they had looked. They did have fit examples to follow in crowning Christ as the sovereign in the constitution. Every colonial charter began with an acknowledgement of God as sovereign. I take this example from the fundamental orders of Connecticut. In the preamble, the fundamental orders of Connecticut, Connecticut, of course, one of the 13 colonies and its colonial charter, its preamble read like this. For as much as it hath pleased almighty God by the wise disposition of his divine providence, so to order and dispose of things that we, the inhabitants cohabiting and dwelling in and upon the river of Connecticut, and well knowing where a people are gathered together, the word of God requires that to maintain the peace and union of such a people, there should be an orderly and decent government established according to God to maintain and preserve the liberty and purity of the gospel of our Lord Jesus, which we now profess as also the discipline of the churches, while according to the truth of the said gospel is now practiced among us, as also in our civil affairs, to be guided and governed according to such laws, rules, orders, and decrees, as shall be made, ordered, and decreed as follows. And then goes the rest of the constitution, the fundamental orders of Connecticut. But I just read for you the preamble, which acknowledges the God of the Bible and the Lord Jesus Christ as sovereign over that colony. This indeed is a model, if you will, of how a national constitution should be so ordered. All of the colonial charters, the constitutions, had language similar to that of Connecticut. Christ was king of the colonies, explicitly acknowledged. This is one reason why God blessed America so abundantly and fruitfully in its early years. And it is time then to return to this founding truth. And it is time to acknowledge that truth formally in our constitution. We owe it to a candid world, as Jefferson puts it. We owe it to them and to ourselves. God blesses an open and explicit confession of himself personally and corporately. He blesses personally and corporately, not a silent, implicit one, as is presently the state in our constitution. As Jesus says to his disciples, everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven. We must acknowledge Christ both personally and corporately. We do that corporately in our churches and yea, in our government and constitutions. Behold, how God has blessed America and her constitution in the past, even with this muted expression of his lordship. Oh, dear listener, think what an open confession of him would elicit. While there are several things we might do to improve the actual body of the constitution. And I like Mark Levin's books and his book, The Liberty Amendments, Restoring the American Republic, outlines some very good ways in which we might actually improve the constitution in a number of ways. I recommend that book to you. I want to focus yet on how we might actually acknowledge Christ in a constitution, in a Christian constitution. Number one, we might openly acknowledge Christ in a number of ways. Number one, simply alter the preamble to the constitution to read Christ the king in order to form a more perfect union and establish justice and et cetera, et cetera. Through the preamble, the very opening words, rather than we the people, we should acknowledge it as Christ the king who orders a more perfect union and establishes justice in the other four additional purposes of government. This would be an acknowledgement from the outset that Christ is sovereign. It is a misnomer of the highest order when objectively considered to assert that the people are untethered from the providential will of their creator. No, no, no. We are not simply able to ordain and establish anything, much less a solemn constitution. That is one way in which we might begin to establish a Christian constitution is right in the preamble. Or number two, we might indeed further improve upon the constitution by acknowledging Christ in the oath of office. The oath of office in our constitution presently is found in article two, section one, and paragraph nine. We assert that the oath of office should be sworn in the name of God and Jesus Christ explicitly. Right now it reads, I do solemnly swear in the name of, or what it should read, I'm sorry, is, I do solemnly swear in the name of God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, that I will faithfully execute the office of president and on and on for the rest of the oath. This is how it should be restated and refigured and held and sworn in sincerity. Solem oaths are not much regarded in today's world, however, is it, as evidenced by those oaths, violations on a regular basis by so many who swear them in our government. They are but mere formalities for most of them. Oh, to be repeated and then quickly forgotten while they get on to the real business of government, right? Screwball the American people and enrich me and my family. That seems to be the prime directive of most politicians. But God will hold them to account, both in this world and the next, for the breaking of their oaths. Do you hear that, deep staters? You will be held accountable by God Almighty. How much more when sworn, however, in his name throughout history, covenants and treaties, and keep in mind that the Constitution is really a covenant at base, all covenants and treaties were sworn on pain of death to be kept to the letter and in the name of God. It is time we acknowledge the God of this land, the Lord Jesus Christ. Treachery, treason, or callous disregard of the covenant resulted in a violation of the oath to it. And in covenants past throughout history, it always brought swift justice from the God, the king of that covenant, or the man, the king of that covenant. We see this throughout the Bible. And God has not changed. Oaths ensure fidelity to the covenant, or else the fear of God indeed stands behind. Oaths to covenants, or else they will obtain swift justice from both God and me. Our enforcement of covenant oaths indeed tell us that we fear God as well, and that God stands behind oaths in covenants. Even the generic oath of the American Constitution, God will requite justice for its violation. If we live long enough, oh, I pray that we will see criminals like Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, George Bush, Dianne Feinstein, James Comey, Peter Strzok, John Brennan, James Clapper, and dozens of others given a swift trial and then shot at dawn. All of these I've listed for you have violated their oaths to faithfully execute their offices and defend the Constitution from enemies foreign and domestic. In fact, these that I have named for you personify enemies domestic. The oaths sworn must invoke the transcendent sanctions of Almighty God upon the swearer, positive sanctions for the faithful, negative sanctions for the unfaithful. Those demon hypocrites who put their hands on a Bible as a symbol of sanctions and solemnity, they should also have a symbol of blood, too, to show these very sanctions. The justice should be holding, for example, a loaded 357 magnum as a symbol of sanctions and solemnity. Well, these are two of the things to help us ensure indeed that a Christian constitution is a Christian constitution and we build a series of Christian constitutional republics. I'll continue with this next week where we'll indeed see further ways in which we can ensure that we have a Christian constitutional republic and in its form, that is, in the Constitution's very heart and soul in its very form. Now, this has been Pastor David Bass at New Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church and we are indeed casting a vision for a Christian constitutional republic, for a Congress of Christian constitutional republics around the world. We're presently articulating some of this in our series in church service on Sunday morning, in our series on the apocalypse, so I encourage you to join us for worship. If you've been thinking about crossing our threshold, come and join us at New Geneva Orthodox Presbyterian Church. We meet for holy worship on Sunday at 10 a.m. at 101 4th Street on the corner of 4th and Boulevard, and you can call us for more information and some comments, if you like, at area code 208-523-0196. That's area code 208-523-0196.
